Role-Based Permissions
Dynasend uses the following role-based permissions structure, listed here from lowest to highest:
- User
- Designer
- Manager
- Manager + Designer
- Developer
- Owner
- Reseller + Support
A brief description of each role follows:
User
Users only have access to Dynasend's user portal, and even that access is optional and may be prohibited by a configuration setting (made at a higher level).
They also have access to the Dynasend O365 add-in, which will be running in their O365. The add-in allows for various options, again which are controlled by configuration settings (made at a higher level).
In the documentation, only the User FAQs apply.
Designer
Our "Designer" role is unique in that it can be granted to someone from outside the customer's organization. It enables the permission holder to do two specific things:
- Create a new signature program using our Guided Setup approach
- Create new banners
Manager
The "Manager" role is designed for people who will oversee the day-to-day operation of the email signature program. It will give them access to the manager's dashboard, allowing them to do things like:
- create / edit signatures for users
- create / edit locations
- create user groups
- create & assign banners
- monitor billing and manage payments
Manager + Designer
This role is for managers who will also receive access to the Guided Setup process, enabling them to create new Guided Setup programs and edit existing ones.
Developer
Developers have much higher permissions, specifically when it comes to technical areas of the service. These include:
- Setting the Account Configuration Options
- Azure / Entra ID Integration
- SSO Enterprise Connections
- Google Workspace Deployment
- Signature Builder
- Liquid / HTML Editing
In many cases, the MSP Reseller will serve in the role of developer, on behalf of the end customer.
Owner
The owner has all of the above listed permissions, plus they have the ability to grant Developer credentials to others in their organization.
Reseller + Support
This role is specific to Dynasend resellers. It will provide access to the multi-tenant "Reseller Dashboard", where they will find the accounts of all the customers that they've set up on Dynasend. From here, they will be able to do everything listed above.
