Changelog

July 2026 Upgrade

This release introduces Click Tracking, a new analytics capability for measuring recipient engagement with your signatures.

Click Tracking

You can now measure how recipients engage with your email signatures. Enable click and impression tracking from your account settings, and view clicks, impressions, link performance, activity timelines, and a geography map from the new Click Tracking dashboard in the Manager's Dashboard. Automated email-security scanner traffic is filtered out so your numbers reflect genuine human engagement.

See the new Click Tracking section for details on enabling it and reading your analytics.

July 2025 Upgrade

This release focuses on manager-dashboard previews, photo styling, Azure sync flexibility, and asset uploads. Highlights below; see also the manager FAQs for workflow context.

Option to Preview Reply & Internal Signatures in the Manager's Dashboard

If your program includes specially formatted reply or internal signatures you can now preview them from the manager's dashboard as shown here.

Borders on Round Photos

Borders of varying colors and thickness can now be added to round photos appearing in signatures.

Optional Internal Signature Override

If your program utilizes streamlined signatures for internal messaging but you have some users who would like to override this and instead use their normal signatures for internal messages, this option can now be provided. It's a checkbox in the add-in's task-pane. By default the setting is to use the internal signatures, but individual users can change the setting if desired.

Note: This is an account level option, and is not enabled for anyone at this time. If you wish to offer this override to your users let us know and we will activate it for you.

Enabled Custom Data Elements in the Azure / Entra ID sync

We now support the inclusion of custom, non-standard, data elements in the Azure / Entra ID sync.

Image Uploader Now Available to Managers

On occasion a program is designed such that there is a call for Manager's to be able to upload custom images to the Dynasend server. To support these cases we've now made the image uploader available to managers.

Increased File Size Limit on Uploaded Images

We've increased the maximum size of uploaded images (user photos) from 1 MB to 2 MBs.

In-Signature QR Codes Now Supported

The Dynasend QR codes (linking to the vCard user contact data) can now be displayed directly in the signature. There is a minimum size requirement of 100 x 100 pixels, as these QR codes contain a lot of data and hence are fairly detailed.

Reordered Manager FAQ's on Website for Improved Efficiency

The questions on the Manager's FAQ's have been rearranged to (slightly) improve efficiency when using the page.

May 2025 Upgrade

May 2025 delivers appointment scheduling signatures, SCIM enhancements, and manager tooling updates. Review Outlook add-in FAQs if you use appointment booking.

Signature for Appointment Scheduling

The inclusion of the signature when scheduling appointments from desktop Outlook (not OWA or mobile) is now supported.

Note: This feature requires that you update the Dynasend manifest – instructions are here.

Disabling Signature on an Ad-hoc Basis

A “Disable Signature” option can now be added to your user’s Dynasend task-pane. This works on a one-time basis for the currently open email message. If the task pane is clicked open and the user clicks “Disable Signature” the signature will be fully removed from the current message. After the message is sent, the signature will automatically return to normal operation for subsequent messages. This FAQ provides further information.

Note: This is an account-level setting, so if you would like it activated for your account please contact us and we will enable it.

Send Business Cards to Users by Email

We’ve added a "send business card" feature enabling managers to send out notices by email (similar to invites) that prompt users to save their digital business card to their mobile wallets. This FAQ provides further information.

Identify and Prompt "Missing" Users

Now available in the manager’s dashboard (under “links”) is a feature called “Add-in missing signatures”. This is a report of the mailboxes in your organization that have the Dynasend add-in installed but that have not created a signature – in other words, people who are not using the signature. This FAQ provides further information.

Internationalization

We’ve incorporated Internationalization (i18n) into the Dynasend add-in so that it now supports the following languages:

  • en English (generic/international)
  • en-GB English (United Kingdom)
  • es Spanish (generic)
  • fr French
  • sv Swedish
  • nb Norwegian Bokmål
  • fi Finnish
  • da Danish

Limiting the Signature's Appearance to Once per Thread

We’ve added a user option (in the add-in's task-pane) to have the signature appear only once per message thread. When this is on, the signature will be displayed in the first message of the thread but will be absent from all subsequent replies.

Note #1: We are not recommending this option – we built it at the request of one specific customer. We do want to let you know that it is available though. Note# 2: This is an account-level setting, so if you would like it activated for your account please contact us and we will enable it.

Dynasend is now a multi-region (US & EU) platform

This means that we can direct the location that data is stored in. EU customers will have their data stored on EU servers, and all other customers will have their data stored on US servers.

To accomplish this, we replaced our signature delivery infrastructure with a global one. Two unanticipated, but positive, side-effects of this were an improved delivery speed of the signature into messages (due to more extensive utilization of cached data) and a significant improvement in performance logs (enabling us to more efficiently identify and respond to problems).

Recent Security Improvements & Verification

We're also pleased to announce that Dynasend has recently passed an extensive security review (Cloud Application Security Assessment - CASA). This was required of us by Google (as we will soon be releasing Dynasend for Google Workspace). Although we started with a strong security rating, after three scans and some remediation in between each one we achieved a perfect score. The result is that Dynasend is now more secure than ever.

February 2025 Upgrade

February 2025 introduces digital business cards and expanded developer-role capabilities for agencies building custom templates.

Digital Business Cards

Added the digital business card (wallet pass) feature for iOS and Android: digital business cards allowing for easy in-person sharing of contact data via phone-to-phone QR code / camera.

Developer Role

Created a new "developer" role that opens the platform fully to qualified individuals wishing to take over every aspect of account setup and management.

October 2024 Upgrade

October 2024 adds in-dashboard support, telemetry, multi-region hosting, and GDPR-oriented controls. EU customers should review GDPR compliance.

Integrated Help Desk

Managers now have access to an integrated helpdesk from within the dashboard, streamlining the process of submitting support requests, and on our end, of properly assigning the ticket and responding.

Enhanced Telemetry

Enhanced telemetry provides us with detailed device information streamlining our efficiency when providing support.

Added Versioning

Integrated versioning now tracks changes to HTML / plain-text files, enabling rollbacks if necessary.

Added "Dark Mode" Option for Users

Users are now able to switch the signature profile page (data entry form) to dark-mode.

Added User Details

Detailed user information regarding configuration options and actions taken (edit signature, assigned new role, change authentication protocol, etc.) is now available to our support team to further streamline our efficiency when providing support.

Added SSO Enterprise Connections

  • SAML
  • Google Workspaces
  • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD

Details can be found here.

New Authentication Protocols

  • One Time Password
  • Magic Link

Details can be found here.

User Profile

The user profile provides information on user logins and enables the (optional) setup of two-factor authentication. It also provides users with an opportunity to delete their account if desired, as mandated by GDPR.

Added "Invites" for New Users

From within the dashboard managers can now send email invites to new users, prompting them to set up their signature profile.

Added CSAT / Surveys

An integrated customer satisfaction (CSAT) / one-question survey tool is now available. Mirroring our banner functionality, this allows you to embed a question / response widget at the bottom of your signatures. Response data is available through the dashboard and can be readily imported into a spreadsheet or other program for analysis.

Added New Roles

  • Developer
  • Owner (can delete full account and all user data)

The Dynasend footer now appears at the bottom of the signature profile page (data entry form) providing users access to our privacy policy.

Developer Mode

Individuals holding "developer" credentials will now have full access to the Dynasend platform, allowing them to construct / modify their own programs (data fields, data entry forms, HTML templates, AD sync, etc.).

Fixed an AD Sync Bug

User profiles that were manually created before a customer's AD sync got provisioned were being excluded from the AD sync. This has been rectified.

Roadmap for the Near-Term Future

We have two items that we will be focusing on over the next couple of months:

  1. Get the Dynasend O365 Add-In listed in the Microsoft App Store (thus making add-in deployment easier)
  2. Transition Dynasend to a multi-region, customer siloed, platform, adding Europe initially for enhanced GDPR compliance.

April 2024 Upgrade

April 2024 marks the first public API release alongside Outlook mobile support and core platform improvements.

Outlook Mobile App (iOS & Android) is Now Supported

Modified our O365 add-in to be compatible with the Outlook Mobile App on both iOS and Android.

Public API’s Now Available

Released the first version of our public API with the corresponding documentation and OpenAPI spec. Endpoints are focused around listing and retrieving signature’s data and rendered signature artifacts.

O365 Add-In (technical improvements)

  • Redesigned our add-in signature delivery endpoints to improve reliability and speed.
  • Added telemetry to assist in future troubleshooting.

Improved Support for Shared Mailboxes

Enabled options for shared mailboxes – the signature that is inserted may either be the one that has been created for the shared mailbox account, or it may be the signature belonging to the logged-in user. This is a user setting, [configurable through the Dynasend task-pane](/outlook-add-in/faqs/#8-how-can-i-set-the-signatures-behavior-for-shared-mailboxes).

Option to Disable the Signature for Replies/Forwards

Added an option to allow the user to NOT use a signature for replies / forwards. Note: This is an account level setting, configurable by us. The option to disable the reply/forward signatures will be OFF by default on all existing accounts. If you want us to enable this option for your account, please let us know and we will set this up for you. Once the option has been activated, the reply/forward signature will still be in use for all your users, however, they will be able to open the Dynasend task-pane and disable it if they wish.

Outlook-Safe HTML Coding Feature Added

O365 Web (and perhaps “New” Outlook) no longer supports the HTML “nowrap” formatting tag. As a result, in some cases, unexpected word wrapping might occur. For example:

Senior VP of Sales and Marketing

might appear as:

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Senior VP of Sales<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and marketing

We’ve added the automated interjection of HTML non-breakable space characters between words to overcome the instances of unwanted wrapping.

Fixed the Problem with User Selectable Banners

We were unable to offer the option to make banners user-selectable (via a drop-down menu item on the user profile portal) due to a bug. This has been fixed. Note: By default, programs are set up to have the banner assignment left in the hands of Dynasend Managers. If you would like to let users select their own banners, from a drop-down menu, please let us know. (Managers will still be in control of the library of banners – adding and removing banner options as needed.)

Improved the UI for Users and Managers When the AD Sync is Configured

Data imported from AD is now displayed on the user profile page, both in the data fields and in the live preview of the signature.

A button has been added allowing the user (or manager) to toggle between the AD data or user entered data.

This improvement should clear up what has been a very confusing situation.

Added Support for “Custom Addresses” at Multiple Locations

Some signature programs allow users to select multiple locations – for instance creating a signature that includes Los Angeles and San Diego. This is done via the use of multiple location drop-down selectors on the user profile page. We now have the ability to let the user create a “custom address” for either their primary or secondary location.

Enhanced Output for CSV Files

The CSV file export feature now exports all user data fields, rather than the limited fields it exported previously.

Updated the Auth0 Authentication Process

We’ve upgraded to Auth0’s latest authentication technology – adding a minor efficiency in the process of logging-in (the user’s email address is now auto-populated, rather than them having to manually enter it).

Added Option for User-Specific Graphic Images

We've added an option for users (or managers) to upload a graphic image into their signature directly from the user profile page (the expected use is primarily for adding small award and credential logos). Note that this feature will not be available in existing programs unless it is requested.

Roadmap for the Near-Term Future

We have three items that we will be focusing on over the next couple of months:

  1. Get the Dynasend O365 Add-In listed in the Microsoft App Store (thus making add-in deployment easier)
  2. Bring the user-authentication process in-house (rather than using Auth0). The process will be roughly the same – an email sent to the user’s inbox with either a four-digit code or a magic link (we haven’t finalized the approach yet).
  3. Enable Microsoft Azure/Entra ID SSO for the Dynasend add-in.
